We developed engaging chat animations that would translate the established brand characters from their above-the-line campaigns into interactive digital assets while maintaining their distinctive personality and appeal.
Working collaboratively with a talented designer, we focused on maintaining fidelity to the original campaign characters while adapting them for the unique requirements of digital animation. These beloved characters already had recognition with Mecca's audience, so our challenge was to preserve their essence while making them work effectively in a new environment.
Understanding the community-centric nature of Mecca Bingo's audience, we ensured these animations would foster connection and engagement within the platform's chat environment. The characters needed to capture the warmth and playfulness of the brand while functioning effectively within the technical constraints of the gaming interface.
Innovation came through our production methodology. We used a hybrid approach that leveraged emerging AI technology for initial character movement and expression mapping, then refined these outputs with traditional hand-drawn illustration techniques. This combination allowed us to maintain the authentic, slightly imperfect charm of hand-crafted animation while significantly accelerating the production timeline and expanding the range of character interactions we could deliver.
